I think the human being, specifically the brain, is probably just about the most complex thing that exists in the universe (as far as we know). Molecules and galaxies are simplistic. In the middle is where it gets complex, and nowhere moreso than the human being

I agree with both of you though, because even though while we're the universe at its most complex, our actions are still "explainable", at least in terms of resulting from our genetic makeup and life conditioning/circumstance
If we look at brains as seperate from galaxies I tentatively agree. There is a reason we have not been able to fully model the brain, but we can model galactic movement. Even if we don't fully understand the dark-matter/energy component.
Brains are where molecules and galaxies meet to produce a conscious experience of the universe. And in that sense, brains are both deterministic and magical(edited)

Ah, now you get to at least one real example: On this point there are birds which do interact with quantum physics in order to navigate, converting the data into blueshifted light, from what I gather in order to visualize it.
